its like you let yourself think about random stuff that pops up and there might be something that sounds like the tulpa, and you just run with it and assume its them
8:35 AM
also the answers and thoughts can be inconsistent and nonsensical at first, thats just how tulpas are at first
8:36 AM
you're basically training your unconscious rng thought generator to give answers that align more with the tulpa
8:36 AM
and soon you'll recognise them without much thought
This is actually a common thing that I myself have experienced. As you’re formulating the question in your mind, the tulpa answers that before you can even properly communicate it to them. It’s a sign that they’re developing. It may feel like you’re parroting, but that’s just because they aren’t completely separate from you yet and are just hijacking your mind voice because it’s most likely the most optimal medium of communication for them. In time, their mind voice becomes more distinct from yours; what you’re experiencing is just a step towards that. Don’t worry about it all too much.(edited)
Lucilyn: again, parroting is not the boogeyman of tulpamancy like everyone thinks of it(edited)
1:50 PM
parroting is (ONLY) intentionally imagining your tulpa speak, an optional method for getting your brain used to how your tulpa will sound/act/etc.
1:51 PM
you CANNOT accidentally parrot
1:51 PM
wishy-washy "Was that my tulpa, or me?" thoughts are generally necessary to the start of tulpa vocality
1:51 PM
they can't just start fully vocal, there has to be an in-between (for most people at least)
1:52 PM
Think "That could be my tulpa", "My tulpa wouldn't say that/that was just random thought", and "That was just me" when appropriate to teach your mind what thoughts should be whose
1:52 PM
but if you just constantly doubt, your tulpa's vocality will never get off the ground(edited)
1:53 PM
after a while, your tulpa's thoughts/voice will start to sound more distinct over time, until eventually it's impossible to mistake them for yourself(edited)
1:55 PM
a sapling might blend in with grass at first, but if you keep cutting it down because it doesn't look like a tree, it'll never get a chance to grow into one
talking to your tulpa about stuff that's on your mind or what's going on in your life, and holding the intent for them to be listening and intending to respond (maybe sending tulpish thought-feelings before they can actually speak words)
Lucilyn: technically doesn't have to be talking, active forcing is any time spent 100% directly focused on your tulpa, so talking, wonderlanding/visualizing, personality forcing (optional ofc), whatever else(edited)
Rusty
active forcing is just doing nothing but talking to a tulpa so you do nothing while active forcing.
Lucilyn: while passive forcing is vaguely spending time with your tulpa in any given way, but with less direct focus, so talking to them without much focus or whatever(edited)
2:16 PM
idk, passive forcing is kind of a useless term in our opinion
2:16 PM
it just confuses people because so little qualifies as "passive forcing" instead of just being forcing
2:17 PM
most people use passive forcing to refer to activities that honestly just aren't contributing to development at all
or to activities that should just be called (active) forcing(edited)
How about drawing the line between conversational practice and focusing on the ‘essence’ slash ‘feeling’ slash ‘aura’ of your tulpa? It’s a weird thing to mention, but I like to think of it like how people make you feel a certain way after talking to them
Lucilyn: it's usually easier for people to start out expecting thought-feelings (tulpish) from their tulpa rather than clear words, and then tulpas who can clearly send intentful/meaningful tulpish usually have an easier time transitioning into full vocality(edited)
2:19 PM
though some systems do keep on communicating with tulpish past the developmental stage
2:19 PM
generally that thought-feeling intent just comes automatically quietly tied to actual words though(edited)
Which is what Luci is implying is important..?(edited)
2:23 PM
I’ve had multiple objects represent A3 in the past, each with their own feelings attached. It’s like talking to the same person with a different face every so often. When I sit down to active force, the goal is to make sure each of these ‘totems’ don’t feel too distinct from each other so that it seems like I’m talking to multiple different people
2:26 PM
Making the switch to move away from physical objects is difficult. I’m so used to seeing A3 represented in the physical world that it makes it hard to see her in any other light
Lucilyn: I mean yes and it's extremely obvious, but I half don't blame you since each of us fronts for so long you just get used to each one lol(edited)

@ringgggg - jump
i agree with that, in my view tulpamancy oractice is about developing the feel and insight, not using intellect. In my opinion the latrer just slows down the process and distracts
I just have to wait for my .info account to age a few years so that people actually take me seriously
@ringgggg - jump
i’m not sure why you would worry for oeopke to treat uoj seriously. You would either help someone or not. All you can do is share your thoughts and hope it will help someone who resonates with it
